The workflow is designed to stay straightforward for both budtenders and customers while operating alongside the dispensary’s existing retail environment.
Build the Order
The budtender rings up the customer’s products in the dispensary’s existing POS system and selects the appropriate payment type.
Enter the Exact Order Total
Open the PayRio payment application on the terminal and enter the exact checkout total. The terminal automatically handles the transaction’s rounding to the nearest $5.
Customer Selects Their Tip
Merchants can configure Digital, Percentage, or Flat tipping. With PayRio’s proprietary Digital Tipping flow, the customer can tip the transaction’s round-up amount, round-up + $5, round-up + $10, or additional configured increments. Custom and No Tip options can also be offered.
Customer Completes Payment
The customer taps or inserts their debit card, enters their PIN, and reviews the transaction details before approving payment.
Complete the Sale
Once approved, the terminal generates the transaction receipt and the sale can be completed in the POS. With Digital Tipping, the transaction round-up can be captured digitally as part of the budtender’s tip instead of being returned to the customer as cash.
